S.S. City of Ainsworth hull was built near Ainsworth in 1892 by Samuel Lovatt for Bremnor, Watson and Jevons. Boiler, engines and fittings installed at Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Sold in 1893 to John Campbell, John Patterson and August Mantaneau of the Nelson and Lardeau Steam Navigation Co. Sunk off Kaslo Bay in 1897, beached, salvaged and sold in 1898 to Bremnar Bros. On November 29, 1898 while Crossing the mouth of Crawford Bay swamped with the loss of 7 members of the crew and 2 passengers.
