"You didn't have to feed them hay or clean up after them, but sometimes they were not as reliable as the horse. The horse knew its way home when you were too tired to drive them." Bielert was the water bailiff for 25 years. He was working on his Anderson Road orchard at harvest time. The family came to Ellison in 1947.
