British Columbia Regional Digitized History (B.C.R.D.H) is the evolution of the Digitized Okanagan History (D.O.H.) project, which was conceived of as a unique regional partnership involving the University of British Columbia's Okanagan Campus Library and numerous community memory institutions. D.O.H. was renamed British Columbia Regional Digitized History in February 2020 to reflect the expansion of the project to include a new aggregate collection: Kootenay/Columbia Digitized History. Our co-op student, Magnus Berg, produced a video this summer using footage and interviews we collected during our repository visits in March 2020. While the UBC Okanagan Campus Library continues to be closed to the public, and our team continues to socially distance, we are continuing our work to add new collections to the B.C.R.D.H. portal and enhance access to local history materials. Watch our video below to learn more about what the B.C.R.D.H. is, how materials are selected for inclusion on the B.C.R.D.H. platform, the process for subsequent description and ingest into the portal, and what our institutional partners have to say about us.
