Carlin was born on May 9, 1876 in Neiuwekerken, Belgium and came to Chase in 1913. She settled in the Chase Creek area after 1920. She describes the early development of Chase and area. She recalls some of the history of the Women's Institute and the establishment of the Fall Fair Association. She died on August 16, 1993.
