Excerpt from page 46 of "B.C.'s Inland Empire" by Erskine Burnett associated with this image: Just beyond the filling station is the entrance to Swansea Beach and here the Swanson's have laid out a cabin camp fronting on a beautiful sandy beach which shelves gradually into deep water. Boating and bathing can be indulged in to your heart's content and there is a tennis court. There are fish in the lake and a yarn to the effect that a local resident once caught an eighty pound trout here. We do not vouch for the weight but you never know your luck. You might succeed in improving on this one. Growing in the crevices of the walls of rock bordering this part of the highway are several species of rock plants which do well when transplanted to a rockery. One of these bears trusses of purple bloom resembling in general appearance the cultivated snapdragon, although we never saw a snapdragon of this particular shade. This same plant grows on the rocks at Shuswap Falls many miles further up the valley.
