Excerpt from page 98 of "B.C.'s Inland Empire" by Erskine Burnett associated with this image: Most of the overhanging rock has been removed. McIntyre Bluff, near the south end of the lake, appears in the background. Large numbers of Canada Geese nest here and the daily flight of these "honkers" to and from the lake at certain seasons of the year is a feature of the Oliver country. Mr. Parham of Penticton, author of "A nature lover in British Columbia", told us that where available a pair of geese will appropriate the nest of a fish hawk. When the ospreys arrive later there is of course a difference of opinion as to rightful ownership. How the goslings survive the fall into the water from a tree-top would seem to be a problem but, being mostly balls of fluff, they apparently do survive.
