Captain James Dun-Waters purchased the Shorts' Point delta around 1908, developing it into the Fintry farm and estate. The Friends of Fintry Provincial Park Society seeks to restore and protect the Fintry Estate, and share it with the public. Society members are involved in research, restoration of buildings and grounds, building the Fintry archives, work bees, fund raising, and recovering Dun-Waters' belongings.
