Recording appears to be part of a series of interviews undertaken on behalf of the Greenwood Museum in the summers of 1979 and 1980. With funding provided by the Secretary of State high school students (Ellide Daminato in 1979 and Ginny Kelly and Rita Daminato in 1980) conducted a number of interviews to help document changes in the community since the 1940s particularly focusing on the experience of and with the large contingent of Japanese Canadians forcibly relocated to Greenwood beginning in May 1942.
