History: After C.B. Hume died in May 1937, the building was taken over by Revelstoke Cooperative Society in October 1941, and in 1962 it was purchased by the Royal Bank, who completely remodelled the exterior. The building was destroyed by fire in 1967, and rebuilt shortly thereafter.
