History: Grand Opening of Alpine Lanes Bowling Alley on Saturday, December 15th, 1962. Had been open since September with league and open bowling. Lanes installed by Brunswick of Canada Ltd. Up-to-date in every respect. The 12-foot saw-tooth ceiling is baffled to control the sound. It also conceals the lighting. Many local contractors. The lanes are owned by Alpine Ventures Ltd., the principals of which are members of the pioneer Rutherford family. Manager is Craig Rutherford. Alpine Lanes Bowling Alley was located at 200 First Street East where "The Cabin" now operates.(October 2020)
