Marie Maloff (1924-2013) grew up in the Ootishenia and Thrums area. In 1944, she married Fred Maloff of Krestova and they lived and raised a family in the Krestova/Crescent Valley area. In the interview Maloff describes her son's capture by the R.C.M.P. during 'Operation Krestova' when Doukbobor children were forcibly removed from their families and relocated to the New Denver dormitory when he was ten years old. He was released in 1959 when he was 14. Maloff recalls this painful period as well as other childhood memories.
