S.S. Alberta nee State of Idaho 1893 - 1902. Built at Bonners Ferry by George Watson for Depuy, Lanneau and Rutter of the Kootenay Railway and Navigation Co. Launched April 8 1893. Master: S.B. Shaw. September 1893 sped across international line to avoid seizure by a sheriff. 4 AM Nov. 10 1893 grounded on rocks at Idaho Point. Bought "as is" by G.P. Alexander for International Trading and Navigation Co. Towed to Mirror Lake and in 1895 re-commissioned as the ALBERTA. Laid up in Kaslo Bay in 1902, sunk in 1905. Bought by Gus Matthews. Used as a houseboat in Crawford Bay, later as a bunkhouse in Galena Bay.
